The Cozy Corner

Welcome to The Cozy Corner, a state licensed family child care center in Cheshire, CT. Conveniently located off Route 10 close to the Hamden townline, I serve the Highland School district in Cheshire, but my location is equally close to Norton School. Also, my family child care location is convenient for anyone commuting near Route 10 from Wallingford, Hamden, Bethany, Meriden, Southington, or the rest of the greater New Haven county area.

My doors are open to families needing part-time childcare or for those searching for a small playgroup to encourage social interaction. I accept children between the ages of two - five, to attend either two or four mornings per week from 9 - 12. I also offer the option of longer hours for those parents needing childcare. Hours available are Tuesday-Friday from 9 - 5. I do ask for a two day minimum to establish consistency for the child.

Young children need to learn how to interact socially with peers, how to separate from Mom or Dad and how to accept direction from an adult other than their parents. This is a crucial developmental stepping stone in the early childhood years: developing a sense of self-autonomy. “I can do it myself!” However, sometimes either the parent or the child is not ready for a large nursery school setting. I provide a natural first step away from home, on to the road of “independence.” Children and parents can separate from each other feeling confident that they are going to a warm, cozy place with a small group of children (no more than 6) where they can learn and play together.

Many parents of The Cozy Corner continue to send their children here even after they begin nursery school! They choose to send their children here on the days they don’t have school!
